In Trempealeau County 4-H, we know that incredible achievements happen at every level, thanks to the dedication of our amazing youth, passionate volunteers, and supportive community. It’s time to shine a light on these stars!
We have several awards designed to recognize the diverse contributions that make our 4-H program thrive. Consider nominating someone you know for one of the following:
For Our Outstanding Youth:
- Achievement Award: This is a prestigious honor, the second highest a Trempealeau County 4-H member can receive. We present this award to two experienced 4-H youth each year to celebrate their overall involvement, leadership, and accomplishments throughout their entire 4-H career. To be considered, nominees should demonstrate significant involvement at both the club and county levels and have actively served in various youth leadership roles. District, state, and national experience is a definite plus! While previous awards and recognitions are noted, the primary focus is on the nominee’s overall journey and contributions to 4-H.
The Wisconsin 4-H Key Award: It’s important to note that the Wisconsin 4-H Key Award stands as the highest recognition a 4-H member can achieve. This award celebrates those in 9th grade and up who have demonstrated consistent growth in their 4-H involvement, developed leadership skills, and actively participated in their club and community for at least three years, including one year in a youth leadership role. While the Trempealeau County Achievement Award recognizes significant contributions within our county, the Key Award represents broader, sustained excellence within the state 4-H program.
- James W. Crowley 4-H Dairy Leadership Award: For the young person who shines in their dairy project, demonstrating exceptional dedication and skill. This prestigious award, sponsored by the James W. Crowley Dairy Management and Extension Fund, includes a unique engraved medallion and even opens doors to state-wide awards and scholarships!
For Our Dedicated Volunteers and Groups:
- Distinguished Service Award: This award recognizes any active 4-H group or individual who has made outstanding contributions to the Trempealeau County 4-H program through their significant involvement and leadership. If you know a group or individual who has truly gone above and beyond for our county-level 4-H efforts, nominate them!
- Volunteer of the Year Award: Any active 4-H group or individual can nominate a currently registered 4-H leader who has served for a minimum of 4 years or fewer as a volunteer in Trempealeau County 4-H and has made outstanding contributions to our program through their involvement and leadership at the county level. If you know a newer leader who has made a significant impact, be sure to nominate them!
For Our Supportive Community:
- Friend of 4-H Award: Has a local business, organization, or individual gone above and beyond to support our 4-H members or the program as a whole? Let’s acknowledge their invaluable partnership!
It’s Easy to Nominate!
Any Trempealeau County 4-H member can nominate one deserving individual, company, or organization for each of these awards. Don’t miss the chance to give credit where credit is due!

- Think about the youth, volunteers, and community supporters who have impressed you.
- Consider their involvement, leadership, accomplishments, and overall impact on 4-H.

These prestigious awards will be announced at the opening ceremony of the Trempealeau County Fair in July – a fantastic opportunity to celebrate together!
