The Trempealeau County Fair, happening July 16 – 20, 2025, at the Trempealeau County Fairgrounds in Galesville, WI, relies on the incredible dedication of our community, and we’re excited to invite you to be a part of it! We have important volunteer opportunities available for both our bustling 4-H Food Stand and essential Building Monitoring roles. Signing up is a fantastic way to support our clubs, contribute to the fair’s smooth operation, and have fun while you’re at it!
What You Can Sign Up For
The 4-H Food Stand: Fueling the Fun & Supporting Our Youth!
Our Food Stand is a central hub of activity, serving delicious items to fairgoers. This food stand is Trempealeau County 4-H’s primary fundraiser of the year. Funds raised are used for club needs, educational opportunities, camps, scholarships, and more!
We need enthusiastic volunteers to help with serving, preparing menu items, and keeping things running smoothly. This is a great chance to work alongside fellow club members and contribute to a vital part of the fair experience.
Key Food Stand Shift Details:
- Wednesday: Limited menu service, shifts from 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM.
- Thursday: Serving starts at 10:30 AM, with shifts running from 10:00 AM – 9:45 PM. Evening shifts include cleanup.
- Friday & Saturday: Full days of service from 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM (Friday) / 9:30 PM (Saturday). These days have longer shifts and require more people, especially for the demo side on Saturday.
- Sunday: Shifts from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, including serving and cleanup.
Many shifts involve overlapping periods to ensure smooth transitions and adequate staffing, especially during peak hours!
Building Monitoring: Keeping Our Exhibits Safe
Building Monitors play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our youth exhibits and, if needed, the Cloverbud Building. This is a quieter but equally important role, perfect for those who want to contribute in a structured environment.
Key Building Monitoring Shift Details:
- Wednesday: No shifts.
- Thursday: Evening shifts from 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM. Note: Cloverbud Building monitoring may be needed earlier, but the Youth Exhibit Building is monitored until 10 PM.
- Friday & Saturday: Full-day monitoring from 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM.
- Sunday: Morning and afternoon shifts from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
Urgent Need: Evening Volunteers for Our Busiest Nights!
We especially need your help on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. These are our busiest times at the fair, particularly at the Food Stand, and having extra hands makes a huge difference in serving our fairgoers efficiently and ensuring everyone has a great experience. If your schedule allows, please consider signing up for a shift during these crucial evening hours!
How to Sign Up – Mark Your Calendars!
There are two primary ways to sign up for Food Stand or Building Monitoring shifts:
- Early Access at the Meeting: If you are a parent or leader and want to secure a specific shift, you are invited to attend the Parents and Leaders Meeting on Monday, June 23rd. Directly following this meeting, families who are in attendance can sign up for shifts.
- General Online Sign-Up Opens June 24th: For all other sign-ups, an email will be sent out to families on the morning of Tuesday, June 24th, which will include a direct link to the sign-up sheet. Additionally, a link to the sign-up sheet will be available on this page.
Families are able to sign up individually. While you do not need to sign up through your club leader, they can be a great resource for information regarding the schedule and any specific club coordination.
