Hello 4-H families!
The fair is quickly approaching, and I wanted to give you information on a big change to the Herdsmanship Awards! With more and more fairgoers being removed from the farm and agriculture, presenting our animals and maintaining our barns is more important than ever. The fair board realizes the energy and dedication it takes to keep the animal exhibits and displays looking their best for fairgoers and has developed a monetary award system in addition to the ribbons and trophies. Each animal division (Beef, Dairy, Goats, Horse, Sheep, and Swine) herdsmanship winner will receive a $50 award, and the overall winner of the President’s trophy will receive $100. We hope that this incentive will spark new enthusiasm for the “barn duty” schedule, with everyone in the club pitching in to “make the best better.” Good luck!
