Funding Request Process
The Trempealeau County 4-H Parent and Leaders Association works to provide educational opportunities to youth and adults in Trempealeau County 4-H. One of the ways that we provide these opportunities is through assisting with funding for county, state, regional, national, and international 4-H events or activities. We want
those involved in the program to understand our funding request process, and information about the process can be found below. If you have any questions, feel free to ask a board member (a list can be found on the Extension website).
The Trempealeau County 4-H Leaders Executive Board includes money in their budget to help defray some costs of 4-H educational trips or activities in which Trempealeau County 4-H members and leaders participate.
The amount the Association can contribute in a given year depends on the success of fundraising efforts, the amounts spent in other budget areas, the number of applicants, and the level of requests.
A Funding Request Form has been developed for use when an individual or group is requesting monetary support. Only 4-H Sponsored Events will be considered for reimbursement. Use of the form will provide a consistent, concise approach for obtaining information. Once the Committee engages in discussion relative to
the request, the requester may be asked to leave the meeting and will be notified by email of the Committee’s decision.
The 4-H Leaders Executive Board will evaluate the request, and the applicant is asked to follow the guidelines listed below. Currently, the Leaders Executive Board meets quarterly in March, June, September (annual Meeting), and December.

National 4-H Week
National 4-H Week is a week-long celebration. 4-H is recognized for its positive contributions to youth and their communities.

Foodie Camp
NEW this year! Youth will get the opportunity to learn about food prep, decorating, and other prep for the Foods Revue.

Beef Weigh-in
Beef weigh-in is an important date. If you plan to sell a beef market animal at the fair, you have to participate in the beef weigh-in. This is located at the Independence NFO. Tentative dates are February 6, with a snow date of February 13. Watch for an email from TrempCAC@outlook.com.

Clover College
Clover College is a one-day multi-workshop program where youth can explore their SPARKs and try new things. There are often youth and adult volunteer opportunities to demonstrate knowledge. Kindergarteners through sixth grade are encouraged to attend. Date: March 20; location to be announced.

Dog Project
The Dog Project sends out their meeting and training times in March. Watch the Newsletter! Youth in third grade through post-high school can participate in the project. Community members are welcome as well if space is available. Participants can learn about obedience, rally, and agility. Locations and times vary.

Style Workshop

County Fair

Cloverbud Royalty Sign-up
Cloverbud Royalty is for our youngest members in kindergarten-2nd grade. Sign-up opens on June 1st. All youth who apply get crowned. The crowning happens during the opening ceremony of the Trempealeau County Fair. Our members get to practice their public speaking skills.

Awards Nominations Open
The 4-H program is supported by extraordinary people. This is the time for youth and adults to get recognition for their outstanding work. Applications open on June 1st, and awards will be presented at the opening ceremony of the fair.

Safety Day Camp
Youth learn about how to be safe in their environment. This is offered as a summer school option for Arcadia, Independence, and Whitehall school districts. It will be on June 16th at Pietrek Park. This program is for youth in fifth grade.

Great Outdoors Camp
A 3-day program where youth learn survival skills and how to enjoy the outdoors. Participants are in 4th-8th grade. Older youth and Adult volunteer opportunities are available.

Parents and Leaders meeting
Meetings are held at the Trempealeau County Government Center on the 4th Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. This meeting will be on June 28th. They are in charge of reviewing and approving funding requests. Attending meetings is a great way to learn more about the group’s work and how it helps the organization. Foodstand Sign Up
This will be available on the Tuesday after the Parents and Leaders Meeting. Watch your email for the official sign-up. It will also be posted on the website so that members can find it there. This is the program’s largest fundraiser, so it is all hands on deck!

County Fair
All members are welcome to participate. The County Fair is a great space to receive feedback on members’ projects. Projects are areas where a member wants to grow and learn. This week is the busiest of the year, when members can connect with others from the whole county and volunteer their time in many different ways.

Science Camp
Science Camp is a 3-day program where youth in 1st-5th grade get to experience the scientific method in a hands-on way. Registration opens in May, and the 60 spots will fill up fast

Ashley for The Arts
Trempealeau County 4-H will have an Art Display at Ashley for the Arts. Conversations are in the works, but members will have an opportunity to display their art at the area’s largest Art program. Watch the Newsletter for more details.
