The 2025–2026 Wisconsin 4-H Charter Application is officially open as of September 1 and must be completed online by November 1. This annual process is required for all 4-H Clubs and Groups—whether new or returning—to remain active and recognized within the Wisconsin 4-H program
📝 Why Is the Charter Application Important?
Completing the Charter Application:
- Authorizes your club or group to use the 4-H Name and Emblem.
- Document educational activities for liability coverage.
- Ensures compliance with EEO, ADA, and Civil Rights laws.
- Supports planning and evaluation of your club’s impact.
- Provides insurance coverage for members and volunteers 1.
Failure to submit a completed application by the deadline may result in the dissolution of your club or group

All 4-H Clubs and Groups must be chartered annually. This includes:
- Community Clubs
- Afterschool Clubs
- Classroom Clubs
- Military Clubs
- County-wide Project Groups
- Leader Organizations

📌 What’s Required?
To be recognized as a 4-H Club or Group, you must:
- Have five or more youth from at least three families
- Provide approved adult leadership
- Include youth in decision-making
- Meet regularly
- Have an educational plan and SMART goals
- Submit bylaws or operating guidelines
- Be open to all eligible youth regardless of background 2
