About

We’re excited to bring back the Great Outdoors Youth Camp at Pietrek Park. This is a three day adventure designed to ignite curiosity and connect youth with the great outdoors! This camp blends exploration, hands-on learning, and outdoor fun!

Learn and perform field and laboratory techniques used by scientists studying our streams, lands, and wildlife. Go deep into the woods to carefully listen and monitor birds using binoculars. Identify and learn about plants, trees, and animals living in the floodplain forest of Pietrek Park. Navigate the trail system and discover hidden treasures using aerial photographs and land maps. Gain a better understanding of why wetlands are so important and how their soils are like sponges!

Perfect for youth entering 4th grade through 8th grade, this camp is built for young adventurers who love to explore, ask questions, and learn by doing.
